PERIODIC TESTING

ELectrical installation condition reports (EICR)

This is a comprehensive test of your full electrical installation ensuring it is safe for continued use. It is recommended that all installations should be tested at least every 10 years, so check your consumer unit for any labelling and this should show the next inspection date.

A full report is issued upon completion, this includes;

  • Visual check of the main fuse and metering equipment

  • Testing the main earthing and service bonding connections

  • Full circuit chart including number of points and test results

  • Remove a percentage of accessories for inspection

  • Observation list with findings

Observations are coded 1-3. C1 being immediate danger, if found a temporary repair will be completed there and then. A C2 shows potential danger and improvements are required to gain a satisfactory report. C3 is a recommendation, meaning there is no potential danger, but regulations have likely improved since the installation and these works will bring the installation more up to date.
