EV Charger Installation

K-Electric are registered and qualified to undertake Electric Vehicle Charge point installations, initially starting with the necessary checks on your current installation to ensure the Electric Vehicle Charging Point is installed safely and correctly.

This includes various checks, such as ensuring your property can handle the new demand of an electrical charger and does not overload your system. The initial inspection will also check your current consumer unit to ensure there is an appropriate spare way (as the charger will require it’s own dedicated circuit) or an additional consumer unit may need to be installed. Safety bonding connections to any incoming services will also need to be in place (such as Gas and Water).

Once this assessment has been undertaken, we can then discuss where the charger is going to be installed and how the cable is going to be run. And importantly, which charger is going to be installed. K-Electric are registered with Myenergi and would recommend the Zappi Charger due to it’s smart features and solar integration.

When the installation is complete, a full Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) will be issued, along with a DNO (Distribution Network Operator) notification to ensure they know about the new demand coming from your property.
